The American Cancer Society Web site
contains information about many of the
challenges of cancer and survivorship.
Information about sexual dysfunction
includes possible causes of sexual
dysfunction, treatment options and
professionals who can provide help. You
can search for information by cancer
type or by topic. ACS provides a list of
support groups in your area, or you can
join online groups and message boards.
Some information on the Web site is
available in Spanish, Chinese and
Vietnamese. Information specialists can
answer questions 24 hours a day by phone
or email.

The Cancer Legal Resource Center
provides information on cancer-related
legal issues to survivors, their
families, friends, employers, and those
who provide services to them. The CLRC
has resources on various issues,
including cancer in the workplace,
insurance coverage, navigating managed
care/HMOs and government benefits. Staff
members provide telephone counseling,
and, if necessary, will match you with
attorneys and other professionals for
additional legal information. All CLRC
services are confidential.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services is the federal agency that
operates Medicare, Medicaid and other
federal health programs. The Web site
provides basic information about both
Medicare and Medicaid, as well as
related news articles. Direct links are
provided to each program. This page also
offers a glossary of agency terms and a
search tool. Some common Medicare and
Medicaid forms can be printed from the
site, or you can call the toll-free
number to request that forms be mailed
to you.

The NCCS Web site offers information
on wide range of cancer topics,
including physical changes, emotional
effects, health insurance, cognitive
changes and more. Other sections provide
tips on talking to your doctor,
exercise, employment, finances and
clinical trials. There is a section for
caregivers, and the special needs of
children and those facing end of life
are also covered. The site provides a
glossary and a resource guide with links
to other sites. NCCS also offers the
Cancer Survival Toolbox, a free audio
program that offers tips on
communication, decision making, problem
solving, and finding information
throughout the cancer experience.

CancerCare is a national
nonprofit organization that provides
information and help to anyone affected
by cancer: survivors, family, friends,
and caregivers. Services are provided by
oncology social workers and are free of
charge. Survivors can get information
and resources to help with physical,
practical and emotional challenges.
Social workers also provide counseling
services by telephone, online or through
community support groups. CancerCare's
Post Treatment Online Support Group
addresses the specific needs of
survivors who have completed treatment.
Information on the site is also
available in Spanish.
America's Health Insurance Plans

America's Health Insurance Plans is a
trade association for nearly 1,300
health insurance companies. Their
consumer information section includes
guides on health insurance and managed
care as well as links to health
insurance providers. Because AHIP is a
trade association, the other links on
